EgyptAir (IATA Code: MS[1]) (Arabic: مصر للطيران, Miṣr lil-Ṭayyārān) is the flag carrier airline of the Arab Republic of Egypt and a member of Star Alliance. The airline is based at Cairo International Airport, its main hub, operating scheduled passenger and freight services to more than 70 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. An extensive network of domestic services is also focused on Cairo, Egypt's capital. EgyptAir is Africa's second-largest airline, and joined the Star Alliance on July 11, 2008. The airline has taken Horus as its logo because of it ancient symbolism as a "winged god of the sun".
